Sesame Workshop Promotes Valerie Mitchell Johnston to EVP, Authorized & Enterprise Affairs, and Normal Counsel • The Toy Ebook

Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit media and academic group behind Sesame Street, has promoted Valerie Mitchell Johnston to Government Vice President, Authorized & Enterprise Affairs, and Normal Counsel, efficient July 1. As well as, Johnston has been named Board Secretary for Sesame Workshop. 

Most not too long ago, Johnston served as Senior Vice President and Deputy Normal Counsel at Sesame Workshop. In that position, she labored throughout numerous areas inside the group, supporting its company governance, strategic transactions, philanthropic growth, social influence work, commercially targeted packages, and DEI initiatives. She first joined Sesame Workshop greater than a dozen years in the past, serving as Senior Counsel and later as Vice President, Enterprise and Authorized Affairs.

In her new position, Johnston will report back to Steve Youngwood, CEO, Sesame Workshop. 

“Valerie is a superb, tactical, and strategic lawyer with a deep understanding of the Workshop, its wants, and what’s essential to preserve this group on its trajectory of success,” Youngwood says. “She understands and embraces all sides of our work and mission. I’ve little doubt she’s going to present glorious management for her staff, [which has] the breadth and depth of information, expertise, and dedication to assist us develop the workshop’s academic endeavors world wide.”

Between her tenures at Sesame Workshop, Johnston held roles at Lincoln Heart and at HIT Leisure previous to its sale to Mattel.
